As we all know, Oreos are America’s favorite cookies. The creme filling sandwiched between the two chocolate cookies is as iconic as the American flag. But how to make them even better? With more chocolate of course. This recipe will show you how to make chocolate covered Oreos.
While the original is so addictive, I believe that adding some chocolate and toppings will make you even more obsessed with them. Melting chocolate is a breeze in the microwave, so the instructions won’t be included in this recipe.
Chocolate Covered Oreos
Ingredients
Instructions
Organize your toppings. Cut your fruit and nuts and smash your peppermint candies.
Decide how you want to cover your Oreos. I decided to do a variety of techniques such as completely covering them in chocolate, drizzling some chocolate on top, partially dipping them, and even putting chocolate in the middle!
Cover the Oreos in that smooth chocolate. In this photo, I am using the double fork method, which I found the easiest to use to dunk those Oreos.
Use your imagination and add your toppings to the Oreos. Just make sure they look Instagram-ready.
Place in the fridge for at least an hour so the chocolate firms up.
#SpoonTip: These melt quickly, so keep them in the fridge until right before eating.
There are so many toppings that you could put on the Oreos, like marshmallows, bacon, or even crumbled up pieces of Oreos. To make it fancy, drizzle caramel or white chocolate on top.
It’s a perfect dessert for parties, BBQs or just a small get-together. One idea is to have an Oreo bar where guests get to make their own chocolate covered Oreos to enjoy later. No matter how you decide to enjoy chocolate covered Oreos, use this recipe to ensure you get perfect results every time.
