“What. The actual. F!@k?” That’s the reaction you will get when your friends see this pizza. (I know from personal experience.) It looks like the work of a professional pizza master in NYC. And the best part, it’s really easy. Perfect to impress anyone – your S/O, roommates, mom, or probs even the president.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 13 minutes
Total Time: 23 minutes
Servings: 5 portions of crust, 1 pizza
Ingredients:
For the crust:
5 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon instant yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cups room temperature water
2 tablespoons olive oil
For the pizza:
2 tablespoons olive oil
pinch sea salt
1 leek
handful spinach
1/2 apple, sliced
1/4 brie cheese, sliced or in pieces
All topping amounts can be changed to your personal preferences.
Directions:
For the Crust:
1. Combine all ingredients and knead for 10-15 minutes. (This is the hardest part and still totally worth it.)
2. Divide into 5 equal portions. Oil the outside of each portion and store in Ziploc bags.
Pro Tip: You can freeze the bags of crust you don’t plan to use immediately.
For the Pizza:
1. If unfrozen, the crust can be used immediately. If frozen, let the crust thaw in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
2. Preheat the oven to 500°F.
3. Spray a pan, and roll out the crust to your preferred thickness.
4. Chop the white part of the leek into rings. Rinse the rings in a strainer to remove extra dirt. Pat dry.
5. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a medium skillet, and add leeks. Sauté until light brown.
6. Brush the crust with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle it with sea salt.
7. Arrange the spinach, followed by the leeks. Top with the apple slices and brie cheese.
8. Bake until the crust is golden, about 13 minutes.
9. Most importantly, sit back and enjoy the compliments.
