There is no end to the puppy chow recipes out there (such as this recipe for Red Velvet Puppy Chow.) But “Chow Cravings” can hit at any time and any place, and when they do- you need to act fast. Here are some quick ‘n easy recipes using typical household ingredients that will satisfy those taste buds in the knick of time.

Note: When it comes to puppy chow, the process is always the same, but the ingredients can differ. Apply any of these ingredient combos to the directions explained below.

Easy

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1

Reese’s Chow Ingredients:
1 cup Rice Chex cereal (or similar variety)
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1 handful of peanut M&M’s 1 handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Chocolate Luver’s Chow Ingredients:
1 cup Rice Chex cereal (or a similar variety)
2 tablespoons Nutella
1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Hipster Chow Ingredients:
1 cup of pretzels
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
“Healthy” Chow Ingredients:
1 cup Golden Grahams 2 tablespoons almond butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Directions:
Here is a quick review for the noobs out there that haven’t already hopped on the puppy chow train.

1. Pick your cereal (or pretzel type).

2. Melt nut butter/Nutella in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between increments, until liquefied.

3. Coat cereal in nut butter/Nutella.

4. Place coated cereal pieces in a gallon sized-bag with powdered sugar. Tip: Let extra liquid drip off before adding to powdered sugar bag.

5. Shake. Puppy chow can be anything you want it to be: vegan, gluten-free, or full-flavor. Play around with the ingredients and create your own personal chow.
