Why You Should Drive to Moscow, ID For Food

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at WSU chapter.

Looking for a place to eat can already be difficult; especially if you are picky. Most people know there aren’t many options when it comes to restaurants in Pullman. Good thing, Moscow is only a short 15-minute drive! Here are 9 places you should check out the next time you’re looking for a restaurant to go to.

1.  Maialina Pizzeria Napolenta

Price: $$

Location: 602 S Main St. Moscow, ID 83843

Not only does Maialina open for lunch and dinner, they also open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy some freshly made mimosas and their breakfast pizzas! They are also a gratuity-free restaurant.

Need some good Mexican food? Check out La Casa Lopez! Locals have nominated this restaurant as best restaurant in town two years in a row in 2016. If you go for dinner you’ll get to try their black bean dip everyone raves about.

4. Moscow Food Co-op

Price: $$-$$$

Location: 121 E 5th St, Moscow, ID 83843

The Moscow Food Co-op is almost like Whole Foods. It’s Moscow’s own grocery store that sells almost all organic products. They also have an espresso bar and kitchen where they sell both coffee and delicious daily made food.

5. Lodgepole

Price: $$

Location: 106 N Main St, Moscow, ID 83843

Lodgepole is a New American restaurant. Check them out on Wednesday evenings from 5pm-10pm for their chicken and waffle Wednesday’s!

6. Gambino’s

Price: $$

Location: 308 W 6th St, Moscow, ID 83843

I don’t know about you, but I have a love-hate relationship with carbs. When you’re at Gambino’s, it’s especially hard to say no to carbs. Who doesn’t love pasta? Their portions are also ginormous, so you’re basically getting two meals for the price of one!

7. Bloom

Looking for a brunch spot? Try out Bloom. It’s usually pretty busy on the weekends but it’s sure worth the wait!

8. Sangria Grille

Price: $$-$$$

Location: 2124 Pullman Rd, Moscow, ID 83843

Want to try something different? Sangria Grille is a Peruvian restaurant that uses local produce to create their dishes. They are all about the sourcing of their food, which is the foundation of what they build their restaurant on.

9. Humble Burger

Price: $

Location: 2804, 102 N Main St, Moscow, ID 83843

Humble Burger actually started as a food stand in Moscow’s farmers market, which then turned into a food joint because of how popular it became. What’s special about Humble Burger is that it only serves one type of burger with the exception of a vegetarian option.

Moscow definitely has more to offer than Pullman when it comes to places to eat out. Thankfully, the drive is pretty short too. Hopefully, now that you have had a little sneak peek of some of the restaurants in Moscow; you won’t be stumped when deciding on a place to eat.

My name is Gianna and I am a senior at Washington State University. I am very passionate about food and travelling. I'd like to say I am a very adventurous person. On my free time, I like to discover new restaurants to try and a fun fact about myself is that I have been to 13 different countries; which has helped expand my horizons. Besides from food, I like to draw, hang out with friends, go to concerts, etc.
