Evol. Foods

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at WLU chapter.

As a college student, I’m always looking for quick meals. As a foodie, I want those meals to taste really good. To aid me in my search, Evol. Foods sent me some meals to try. I popped them in the microwave to end my hunger and in a rush, and I’m so appreciative for that. Here’s what I thought!

Lean & Fit Egg White, Spinach, Roasted Tomato, Potato, & Cheddar Breakfast Burrito

I absolutely loved this breakfast burrito. Anyone who knows me could tell you that two of my favorite things to eat are breakfast foods and Mexican foods. This is both of those combined! Since it’s a Lean & Fit product with lots of protein, I felt full for hours after. This burrito had really nice flavor. Nice, fresh, and a bit spicy.

Chicken, Bean, & Rice and Shredded Beef Burritos

These burritos weren’t bad, but after microwaving they became very dry. The tortilla was especially dry, probably because there was so much of it compared to the fillings. The flavors were good, but I wouldn’t recommend them over the other Evol. Foods products.

Hawaiian Style Grilled Chicken

I absolutely love pineapple, so I really enjoyed this meal. There was a good amount of chicken, and the water chestnuts added a nice crunch. If you’re a fan of sweet-meets-savory, check this out!

Butternut Squash & Sage Ravioli

This was another sweet and savory dish, and it was my favorite one I tried. The flavor of the squash paired really well with the sage sauce. I will definitely be eating this one again (and again, and again, and again!)

Chipotle Chicken Mac & Cheese

This was my least favorite meal. It’s not that it tasted bad, but it just wasn’t mac & cheese. It reminded me more of a creamy chipotle chicken pasta than a cheesy comfort food. I also wasn’t a fan of the copious amount of breadcrumbs on top. The chipotle flavor was good, I just would’ve liked to see more cheese.

Fire Grilled Steak

I’d just like to start out by thanking Evol. for putting a really good amount of steak in this dish. I was nervous that there would be only about three or four pieces, but I was pleasantly surprised to be able to have some steak with almost every bite. With that being said, I thought the cilantro lime pesto was really the star of the show. It added a bit of kick but kept the meal tasting nice and fresh.

Again, a huge shout out goes to Evol. Foods! Check out their website, order some food online, or head to the grocery store for some good eats!

I love traveling, being active, hanging out with friends, and most importantly, good food!
