Make These Homemade Hanukkah Cookies Even Though the Holidays Are Over

Every family has recipes that they pass down. In my family, it’s my great grandma’s hanukkah cookie recipe. These hannukah sugar cookies are easy to make, and a great holiday gift.  And if you want to make these for a different holiday, use the same cookie recipe and different shape cookie cutters. Enjoy!

Hanukkah Cookies

  1. Sift flour.

    Combine baking powder and salt with flour.

    Add oil to flour mixture and mix with a fork.

  4. Crack an egg into a liquid measuring cup, and pour in orange juice until the mixture equals 1/3 of a cup.

  5. In a seperate bowl, beat sugar, vanilla and egg until light and fluffy.

  6. Stir wet mixture into flour mixture. Chill for one hour (this is part of the prep time).

    Roll dough out onto floured surface and use cookie cutters.

    Optional: place one chocolate chip in each cookie before baking.

  9. Bake for 9 minutes at 400°F.
