The Best Banana Bread You Will Ever Make

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Wake Forest chapter.

I have been making this banana bread for years and I can safely say it’s a crowd favorite! My grandmother gave me this recipe when I was younger and I’ve been baking it ever since. It is, without a doubt, the best banana bread you will ever make. It’s super easy to make and tastes amazing. It’s taking all my strength to share the recipe with the internet, but here it is!

Instructions

  1. Kate Jones

Gather ingredients, pre-heat the oven to 350° and grease the tins.

  2. Kate Jones

In one bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

If you don’t have a sifter, don’t worry! I have used a strainer before and it works just the same.

  3. Kate Jones

In a second bowl, beat eggs and sugar. After mixture is a pale yellow color, add in vegetable oil, mashed bananas, creme fraiche, and vanilla.

3 cups is usually about 6-7 bananas. I peel and slice them in a separate bowl to mash them and then add them to the wet mixture.

  4. Add in dry ingredients and mix.

If you want to mix it up, you can definitely add chocolate chips, walnuts, or whatever you’re feeling.

  5. Kate Jones

Pour batter into pans and bake for 30-45 minutes (depending on pan size). Make sure not to fill up the pans all the way because they will rise in the oven!

Note: I got these tins from Sur La Table a few years ago. I like them because they efficiently bake 8 perfect sized loafs.

  6. Let the loafs cool for a bit then, eat and enjoy!
