How To Make Edible Dreidels

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Vandy chapter.

Eggnog, gingerbread, candy canes… It’s starting to sound a lot like Christmas. Now, while I enjoy my peppermint bark Godiva as much as the next girl, sometimes I just want to embrace my Jewish heritage and enjoy a holiday-themed snack at the same time. Many think that Chanukah celebrations should solely include latkes, menorah lighting and maybe even a little chocolate gelt. However, I am here to tell you that these people are just wrong. All you need to do is gather a few simple ingredients and you can make your own sweet and salty snack that won’t get you shunned from your local temple.

Easy

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

Jumbo marshmallows
Pretzel sticks
Frosting (pick your favorite flavor)
Hershey Kisses (try peppermint for extra holiday spirit)

Hint: The number of marshmallows, pretzels and Hershey Kisses depends on how many dreidels are desired (use one of each per dreidel).

Pro tip: If you love a sweet and salty combination as much as I do, you’ll make the most out of your materials by dipping your leftover pretzels in frosting.
