Easy Granola Ball Recipe

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UVM chapter.

Grocery store granola bars often contain additional ingredients that offer no nutritional value. These granola balls provide quick energy without the unhealthy added sugar. For anyone needing a quick snack, these easy granola balls – yes balls not bars – are perfect for you.

    Step 1

Mix all the dry ingredients, oats, dark chocolate chips, chia seeds, coconut flakes, and marshmallows together in a large bowl. We recommend breaking/pulling the marshmallows apart to avoid large clumps.

    Step 2

Next, add in the vanilla extract. The peanut butter should be slowly mixed into the dry ingredients. In between adding the peanut butter, use your hands to mix all the ingredients together. The honey is added last, as it holds all the ingredients together.

    Step 3

Using your hands, mix it up! Roll the mixture into balls of your preferred size. Put into the refrigerator to cool. Pro tip: place balls on a brown paper bag. The brown paper pulls out any moisture and the balls will not stick to the paper when cooling.

    Step 4:

Take out of refrigerator and enjoy, or store them for later!
