Normally, I prefer to wake up in the morning and be healthy. Unfortunately, that is not always going to be the case, and being on a college campus increases the risk of catching a few extra germs here and there. So, on those rare days when you do wake up sickly, a hot toddy will warm you right up and get rid of that sore throat.
A Hot Toddy is a hot tea drink that is extremely easy to make, tasty and is a practical way to get rid of those cold symptoms quickly (when incorporated with conventional remedies of course). DISCLAIMER: This drink contains Bourbon or Whiskey and will more than likely make you a bit drowsy. I would recommend not using Fireball in this drink, as it is whisky (not whiskey), and for a myriad of other reasons.

Ingredients
Instructions
Grab a teapot and begin bringing water to a boil. Don’t worry about measuring too much water because some of it will evaporate anyway.
While the water is boiling, Take a slice off of a lemon and save the rest of it to squeeze the juice into your cup.
When your water is finally up to a boil, remove it from the heat and prepare to assemble your Hot Toddy. Begin by adding your honey, lemon juice, and whiskey into a cup of your choosing, Next place your teabag into the cup and begin to pour the hot water over the teabag. Then you can steep your tea to get the concentration that you prefer. And lastly giving your tea a mix and placing the lemon slice over the top.
This tea will quickly soothe your throat while also lightening up cold or flu symptoms. Its very easy and can be made in minutes.
This recipe can also be made vegan by exchanging the honey for maple syrup or other sweeteners.
