Dutch Apple Pancake
Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Put butter in 9-inch round baking dish and place in oven to melt.
Slice apple into thin slices.
In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, milk, and eggs.
Stir the mixture until batter is smooth.
Remove baking dish from oven and swirl to evenly coat bottom and sides with butter.
Line bottom of pan with thinly sliced apples. Add between 1-3 layers of apple slices, depending how much fruit you want in the pancake.
Pour batter into baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. You want the edges to be crisp and golden brown while the center is set but still soft.
Remove baking dish from oven and dust with confectioner’s sugar and cinnamon.
Cut pancake into wedges and serve immediately.
You can substitute the apples to make the pancake reflect the season or your favorite fruits. Strawberries, blackberries, and peaches are all delicious substitutions.
