On Wednesday, March 16th, Spoon University at Berkeley had its second annual bake sale on Sproul Plaza, where hundreds of Berkeley students and residents pass by every day. Team members worked extremely hard the night before to bake all of our fresh goodies and dedicated their time from 10 AM to 3 PM today to make our supporters’ day a little sweeter.
What could be better than the first sunny day after a rainy week? Eating our homemade goods on a perfectly sunny day, of course! In case you weren’t able to stop by our table, here’s what you missed.
1. Slutty brownies
Also known as “OCD Brownies” (Oreo and cookie dough) — a term coined by our very own Community Manager, Katie Huang — our slutty brownies satisfied many early morning sweet tooths. Still craving fudgy brownie layers, crunchy yet soft chocolate chip cookie crust, and milk’s favorite cookie filling? Get the recipe here.
2. Lemon bars
Our lemon bars were the perfect afternoon pick-me-up treat. Lemon lovers and adventurers alike tried our lemon bars and were pleasantly surprised by the perfect harmony between the tart lemon curd and sweet, buttery crust. You can even make these luscious lemon bars yourself — though we can’t guarantee they’ll be as tasty as ours.
3. Triple chocolate brownie cookies
Possibly the most raved about treat of all, our triple chocolate brownie cookies had crunchy edges and a fudgy interior of chocolate decadence. Our secret? Well, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore if we told you, would it?
4. Chocolate walnut spoons
It wouldn’t be a Spoon bake sale without real spoons involved. Except, our team members took it to the next level and made edible spoons. We sold packs of 3 assorted milk and dark chocolate spoons dusted in crumbled walnuts for those craving just straight up chocolate. If you ask us, these would be the perfect utensils to eat Pacific Cookie Company‘s ice cream…
All funds will help our team create more articles for you to read, and we thank those who stopped by our table to try our delicious baked goods as well as those who continue to read and share our articles. Keep an eye out for our next bake sale!
