This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Mich chapter.

It’s that time of year again — when the holidays creep up on you faster than midterms, but don’t sweat it. This 3-ingredient layered peppermint bark has you covered. It’s the perfect gift, it’s super easy to make, and it looks fancy AF. You can make it when you’re trying to pull your shit together the night before your Christmas-themed party — three ingredients and you’re good to go.

Instructions

Melt the dark chocolate chips by microwaving them in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval. Repeat until chocolate is smooth.

Pour the chocolate onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the chocolate into a nice even square.

  3. Repeat step one with the white chocolate chips.

Pour the melted white chocolate on top of the dark chocolate. Try to pour evenly to make spreading easier, and try to avoid mixing the chocolates.

Place the candy canes in a ziplock bag and crush with a glass or a textbook (at least it’s good for something).

Sprinkle the crushed candy cane evenly on top of the chocolate spread.

  7. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours until hardened.
