This Oreo Nutella Icebox Cake Tastes as Epic as it Sounds

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Mich chapter.

We all know Oreos are milk’s favorite cookie. We also know that Cool Whip makes everything taste better. So what happens when you combine milk-soaked Oreos with a buttload of Cool Whip?

THE MOST EPIC CAKE EVER.

And you don’t even need an oven. Just an icebox (which you can actually make yourself). Everyone wins.

Instructions

  1. icebox gif 1

If you don’t have an icebox (wtf is an icebox, anyway?) make your own by emptying a desk drawer and lining it with tin foil. Or use any box-like container you wouldn’t mind filling with milky Oreos and Cool Whip.

  2. icebox gif 2

Dunk each Oreo into a glass of milk for a few seconds until soft.

#SpoonTip: Stick a fork into the cream filling and dunk in order to avoid soggy Oreo fingers. Ew.

  3. icebox gif 4

Lay Oreos side by side until you have covered the bottom of the “icebox.”

  4. icebox gif 5

Spread a generous layer of Cool Whip on top of the Oreo layer until the Oreos are completely covered.

  5. icebox gif 6

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until your cake has reached desired height (we did 3 layers of Oreos).

  6. Refrigerate cake for about 4 hours.

  7. icebox gif 7

Melt Nutella in the microwave for 45 seconds.

  8. icebox gif 8

Place a ziplock bag into a cup or a glass and snip off a corner with a scissors to make the perfect piping bag.

    Decorate yo’ cake.
