Sometimes I crave Asian flavors that I don’t often get in college; one of them is green tea. Sure, I can brew a cup of green tea and call it a day, but that wouldn’t be much fun. It’s also super fun to bake, but our lives are so busy nowadays that it seems hard to set aside time to whip up something fancy.
So what can strike the perfect balance of ease, green tea matcha-ness, and tastiness? Voila! Green tea + pound cake = bliss.
Green Tea Pound Cake
Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Don’t forget about the green tea! If you want it to be a stronger flavor, add another spoonful of green tea powder.
In the bowl of creamed butter and sugar, alternate between adding the eggs and the dry ingredients. Mix well.
Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Take it out of the oven, let it cool, and eat. Enjoy as a treat, breakfast, or midnight snack!
