These Chai Tea Cookies Will Be Your New Morning Pick-Me-Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Chicago chapter.

Chai tea lovers, we’ve finally made it a reality. They say to make your favorite things into a cookie, and I did just that by making these chai tea cookies. Let me tell you, this is the first time I’ve ever made shortbread but this was super easy and my kitchen was filled with the aroma of chai. These are absolutely amazing and better than your Starbucks chai tea latte, thank you very much.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cream your butter and confectioner’s sugar in a bowl.

  2. Add flour, salt, and loose tea leaves and mix until the mixture becomes soft and easy to work. It’s a crumbly dough, but trust me, it’s worth it.

  3. You can roll your cookie dough and use a cookie cutter or form those delicious cookies with your hands.

  4. Spray your baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and flatten out the balls of dough with your hands.

  5. Bake at 350°F for 18-20 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Your kitchen will smell so good with all that butter and spice.

  6. Drizzle some honey as garnish and enjoy!
