Dairy-free milks are very delicious and a perfect option for vegans or for lactose intolerants. However, they can be quite expensive to buy or even to make because they’re typically made with nuts, which are not cheap. After trying various types of dairy-free milk, I found that oat milk is the cheapest to make, so I’m sharing with you an easy, one-ingredient, creamy and cheap oat milk recipe.
This whole recipe costs about 0.21 cents, depending on the brand and where you buy your oats. That’s less than a dollar! And this oat milk is perfect for smoothies, cereal and everything you can think of – my favorite way to use it is in coffee. As a vegan, I’ve had a struggle finding the perfect type of non-dairy milk for my lattes because not all of them make foam but this oat milk totally does, and the flavor is not overpowering so it blends well with coffee. Also, feel free to add any type of sugar or sugar alternative and flavorings like vanilla extract or cocoa powder to take this milk to another level.
