They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it’s especially important when you’re a busy college student on the go. After surveying most of the breakfast serving establishments around Temple University, I compiled a highly scientific list of the best places to get breakfast based on yumminess, affordability and variety

#1: Owl Breakfast and Lunch

This is my go-to place for breakfast every Sunday morning due to the deliciousness and affordability.

Yumminess: 10/10

I have never ever been disappointed here. The eggs are always cooked to the perfect dippiness and the home fries are the absolute best.

Affordability: 9/10

A whole breakfast platter for $5? I’m sold.

Variety: 8/10

The menu ranges from classic egg platters, to chicken and waffles

#2: Champ’s Diner

A fancier place to get breakfast.

Yumminess: 10/10

This was the creamiest Chipped Beef and Gravy I’ve ever had. Its homemade, too!

Affordability: 7/10

Really the only downfall of Champs Diner is that it’s a little pricier than other alternatives. Although, it is totally worth it. You can check out the menu here.

Variety: 9/10

Three words: Breakfast. Philly. Cheesesteak.

#3: Richie’s

Yumminess: 10/10

Richie’s literally never disappoints, no matter what you order.

Affordability: 10/10

Variety: 6.5/10

With a breakfast menu limited to sandwiches, Richie’s is perfect for when you’re on the go. As a die-hard dippy egg fan though, I had to give a 6.5 for variety.

Disclaimer: I originally rated Richie’s a 5/10 for variety, until I saw this breakfast burger. Definitely worth another point and a half.

#4: The Creperie

Yumminess: 10/10

The Creeperie is one of the best food trucks on campus, without a doubt.

Affordability: 9/10

The crepes are around 5 or 6 dollars and they’re packed with filling.

Variety: 5/10

Although you can choose from a number of phenomenal crepes ranging from sweet to savory, in the end they are still crepes.

Conclusion:

Breakfast is way too important to waste on a bagel that tastes like cleaning supplies and our funds are way too low to spend $5 on said bagel. You can see just how important it is to make time for breakfast here. Although I’m sure I missed a few hidden, breakfast serving gems, these four places are my all time favorites on campus.

Disclaimer: I’m aware I ranked all 4 places 10/10 on the yummy charts, but I just really love breakfast and these places kill it.
