When we think about pizza, it’s usually because we just got back from the bar, have been up all night studying, or having a movie night with friends. Now, we have an even better excuse to order our favorite slice.
Yesterday, Yum Brands – the company that owns Pizza Hut – announced major changes to the restaurant’s choice of ingredients.
By March 2017, they promise to stop using meats with BHA or BHT, cheeses with artificial preservatives, and chicken with antibiotics. Last year in January they provided a gluten-free crust option, and now they’ve lowered sodium amounts as well as nixing MSG and artificial trans fats.
What does this mean for us? More natural options for our late night pizza runs. Pizza Hut is joining a growing list of fast food and fast casual restaurants turning to more natural ingredients – including McDonald’s, Chipotle, Panera Bread, and Taco Bell.
