This Watermelon Lemonade Is The New Summertime Staple

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Sewanee chapter.

Whether it’s eaten on the beach, at a picnic, or just in your kitchen, watermelon is a classic summertime snack. Not only does it taste like refreshing summer goodness, but it’s healthy too- watermelon is about 92% water, which is key for staying hydrated in hot weather. Another popular summertime treat is lemonade, but what’s not so great about it is the high sugar content found in many conventional brands. Want a refreshing summer drink without the unneccessary sugar that’s easy to make? Take a lemon, take a watermelon, and BOOM. Here’s how to make a batch of watermelon lemonade:

I’m a fan of simple solutions, and this slushie lemonade goodness is one of my favorites. Watermelon lemonade provides the slushie consistency of a watermelon in addition to the tangy lemon flavor of a refreshing lemonade. The simple ingredients and an easy put together process makes this drink a new summertime staple that anyone can enjoy. Cheers!
