How to Make Homemade Frosting for Any Occasion

This simple homemade frosting recipe can be used for any sweet treat at any time. All you need are the five ingredients listed below and fifteen minutes. This family recipe is usually used on homemade cookies, but it can also be used on graham crackers or eaten by itself. Bring it to your next party or family gathering, and it will quickly disappear.

    Set butter in a bowl and microwave for 15 seconds or until soft.

    #SpoonTip: To check and see if the butter is soft enough, press a fork into the butter. If the fork slides smoothly into butter, it is at the correct softness.

    Add 1/4 cup of milk and 2 teaspoons of vanilla to the bowl with butter.

    Add 3 1/2 cups of powder sugar to bowl. Use a mixer on the lowest setting until the frosting has a thick consistency. The final result should look like the picture below.

When the frosting is finally ready, you may choose to add food coloring or sprinkles. Then, enjoy it on cookies, graham crackers, or any other sweet treat.
