Mastering The Basics; The Guide To A Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Rutgers chapter.

The first thing most people ever bake are chocolate chip cookies. Even though this seems like a mundane item to bake, there are truly so many ways to go about baking this dessert. I truly believe there is nothing as satisfying as biting into a perfect chocolate chip cookie. Everything from the aroma that encompasses a home when these are baked, to the feeling of eating one of these cookies is truly nostalgic. If you can agree with this sentiment, please give this recipe a try.

Ingredients:

– two sticks of softened butter

– 3/4’s cup of granulated sugar

– 3/4’s cup of packed brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 large eggs

– 2 and 1/4’s cups of all purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 2 cups milk chocolate chip

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°C and like trays with greased foil

2. Mix together the softened butter, both types of sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until a smooth, creamy texture is reached

3. Beat the eggs into this wet mixture

4. Mix together flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl

5. Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture

6. Mix until everything is fully incorporated and fold in chocolate chips in increments

7. Create balls of dough using an ice cream scooper and ensure distance between each cookie on the pan

8. Place extra chocolate chip cookie in top of the dough

9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a golden brown color

10. Sprinkle some flaky salt on top of the cookies while still warm

11. Let cool, and then enjoy these cookies and try not to eat them all at once

Feel free to make any adjustments to make these cookies even more perfect. We hope these cookies give you the warm fuzzy feeling they gave us when we bit into them!
