Nothing is more comforting in the chilled autumn air than a steaming hot cup of tea or coffee with a sweet treat. This is our favourite scone recipe, and you’ve gotta try it. If you’re looking to make a soft cake-like scone that is full of fall flavours, this is the recipe for you. No need to go out and buy from your nearest cafe or on campus, it’ll be better and much more fun to make some yourself. Grab a few friends because these scones are just too delicious not to share.
Pumpkin Scones

Preheat oven to 425°F.
Whisk together all dry ingredients (first eleven ingredients listed) into a large bowl and add diced butter.
In another bowl, whisk together wet ingredients (following six ingredients listed).
Form dry mixture into a well and pour wet mixture into the well. Begin with stirring to mix together, then turn to kneading by hand to fully incorporate both wet and dry mixtures.
Dust a work surface with flour then place dough onto surface. Shape dough into an even 8-oz. round. With a large (floured) knife, slice dough into eight equal wedges.
Move scones onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush tops of scones with 1 Tbsp half-and-half.
Bake in preheated oven for 13 â 15 minutes â until tops are golden brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Move scones onto wired rack and cool for exactly 10 minutes before adding glazes.
Glaze

In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar and half-and-half together.

Spoon and spread glaze mixture evenly over scones.
Let glazed scones sit at room temperature.
Spiced Pumpkin Glaze

Instructions
In a separate bowl, whisk powdered sugar, pumpkin puree, and spices together.
Put mixture into a small Ziploc bag, sealing it, and cutting a small tip from a corner.
Drizzle spiced glaze over tops of scones. Let set.
