Seer Fish Wrapped in Banana Leaves

Fillet a Seer Fish or purchase ready-made raw fish fillets.
Mix pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl and marinate the fish.
Marinate for 1 hour.
Prep the vegetables and thinly slice the shallots, ginger, chillies and garlic.
Shallow fry the fish in a pan. Then saute shallots, ginger, chillies, garlic and curry leaves for 2-4 minutes and set aside.
In a Mortar bowl grind coriander powder, chilly powder and turmeric powder using a pestle.Use the same flavorful oil to cook the gravy. Add in the spice mixture and saute. Add in the Coconut milk and pot tamarind.
Gently soften the banana leaves over low flame then place a fish fillet on a banana leaf and pour in some gravy. Neatly parcel the fish and fry in an old greased non-stick skillet over the stove.
Serve Warm!
