YoFresh Cafe is more than just a family-run cafe or frozen yogurt shop. It has become a place where community members gather for parties, book clubs, performances and quality time together.
Larry and Jean Murphy opened YoFresh with the goal of providing a meaningful space for Evanston residents, along with healthy and tasty food options. They have done just that.
YoFresh Cafe offers ten daily froyo flavor selections with a whopping total of 86 yogurt and sorbet flavors that rotate seasonally. In addition to froyo, YoFresh serves smoothies, coffee and espresso drinks, made-to-order sandwiches and salads, gourmet soups, mac and cheese, pizza, hot dogs and a variety of pastries.
Beyond their food offerings, the Murphys make an effort to give back to the Evanston community. Through their 501(c)(3) foundation, they provide stipends for youth international and cross cultural travel, as well as host roundtable discussions, candidate forums, and more.
When asked about their favorite YoFresh froyo flavors, Spoon members simply couldn’t choose just one. If we had to narrow it down, favorites include cookies and cream, berry lavender and tart — can’t go wrong with a classic. Other standouts include their sandwiches and soups, especially their signature Tomato Basil Bisque!
Spoon couldn’t recommend this Evanston institution enough and we cannot wait for Northwestern students to indulge at Spoonfest on May 8!
