I have overpaid for an expensive strawberry matcha latte that can barely be classified as green and tasted like just milk too many times. We’ve all been there, but with this recipe, you will no longer be disappointed. Here’s my take on the 2024 drink of the summer!

Ingredients:

  • 4 grams of a good matcha powder (I like Ippodo or Marukyu Koyamaen)
  • 2 ounces of strawberry syrup (I use this one)
  • 2 ounces of hot (not boiling! boiling water will burn your matcha) water
  • 4 ounces of alternative milk of your choice
  • Ice

Steps:

  1. Measure your matcha powder and sift it into a bowl.
  2. Pour your hot water into the bowl and whisk with a bamboo whisk in a zig zag motion to ensure there’s no clumps! If you don’t have a traditional matcha whisk, you can also use a handheld milk frother.
  3. Pour your strawberry syrup into a glass of your choice. Add the ice next to create a nice layering effect.
  4. Add your milk on top of the ice and add your matcha shot last.
  5. Take pictures of your creation and enjoy! You’ve just created an easy strawberry matcha latte for a fraction of the prices at cafes.

Notes

  • I personally love using oat milk for my matcha lattes! Try using pistachio milk for a new taste profile.
