Take Your Poke To The Next Level With This Spicy Tuna Crunch Bowl

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Northeastern chapter.

While poke (pronounced “po-kay”) may have recently taken off in the continental U.S., Hawaii locals have been devouring these bowls for decades. With years of poke experience under their belts, local Hawaiian eateries have begun to put their own unique spins on the traditional cubed yellowfin tuna over rice. Many poke joints in Honolulu have added “crunch bowls” to their repertoire, sprinkling on wonton strips, puffed rice cereal, tempura flakes, and other crunchy toppings for a fun textural element to the bowl. Although poke bowls are packed with many different flavors and textures, it only takes six ingredients and ten minutes to make your own crunch bowl at home.
