How to Make Healthy Chips You’ll Go Bananas For

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Northeastern chapter.

What do banana plants and fetuses have in common? Both take nine months to grow. A complete bunch can include up to 170 bananas for a 10-foot banana plant.

As both the world’s most consumed fruit and the world’s most exported fruit, bananas grow year-round in 150 countries, in 1000 different varieties.

Due to its quantity, bananas are also one of the least costly fruits, which led to singer Jason Derulo’s choice to eat four per day in college on a budget.

In other words, banana lovers, you’re far from alone.

Remember when Chrissy Teigen’s banana tweet shut down the Internet?

ICYMI: Chrissy Teigen sent a tweet in search of six brown bananas to make banana bread. The requests flooded in so rapidly the Internet shut down for 30 minutes. If only all of our Twitter followers were so eager to send food…

You’ve probably had smoothies, desserts, and fruit bowls with bananas,

but have you ever dabbled with homemade banana chips?

(*eyebrow raise*)

The recipe is simple, including five ingredients you already have in your kitchen.

These are great to put in a Tupperware container and take on the go! I’ve made quite a few friends (read: hungry students) in night class thanks to these banana chips.
