Best Desserts To Keep Stashed In Your Dorm Room

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Lafayette chapter.

Being a sweet lover is a huge part of my life, and I don’t want to sacrifice it when I go off to college. There are many small dessert items that you can keep around your dorm room that do not take up too much space! Even though the dining hall may have unlimited ice cream, not many people want to walk that far. Some desserts can be kept in the freezer, but a lot of them are small enough to keep in your desk. So here is a list of great dorm room desserts that will cure your sweet tooth cravings.

It is unbelievably easy to make S’mores in your dorm room. All you need is a microwave, chocolate bar, marshmallows, and graham crackers. This is one of my favorite dorm room desserts because it is easy to make and will feel as if you have a piece of summer with you while you are back in college.

Chocolate Covered Fruit

This is one of the easiest, and best tasting things to make. All you need is a bowl, a chocolate bar, and some fruit of your choice. You can melt the chocolate in the microwave, and you immediately will have your own personal chocolate fondue. This is not only easy, but also a healthy dessert for anyone out there on a diet.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

If you do have freezer space with the infamous micro-fridge or a communal one, ice cream sandwiches are the way to go. They do not take up very much space. Ice cream sandwiches come in many different flavors so it is perfect for any ice cream lover. They are small and will curve your ice cream cravings on a hot day.

This dessert is one of the most underrated desserts. They come in easily packable packages and can be mixed with your favorite berry, nuts, or graham cracker. This is small enough that it will not take up a lot of space in a refrigerator and is found in any grocery store. And if you feel like it you can make your own! You can even top the whole thing off with whipped cream.

Last but not least we have Halo Top Ice Cream. This is by far one of the best ice cream companies out there. They create various different flavors of ice cream for less calories. You can eat the whole pint guilt free. One pint should not take up that much space in your freezer, and if you buy it and realize you do not have space for it you can just eat the pint and not a bit would go to waste.

Make sure to remember to pack these awesome desserts on move in day!
