You know fall has arrived when you see those Halloween Oreos on the self at the grocery store. Even though I’m pretty sure the only difference is that the cream filling is dyed an unnatural shade of orange, the Halloween Oreos somehow taste a million times better than the original ones. This is a festive twist on a dirt pudding recipe to help get you in the Halloween spirit.
Halloween Dirt Pudding
Ingredients
Instructions
Cream cheese usually comes in an 8-oz. package, so you can go ahead and just put that in a large bowl. Next, measure out your powdered sugar and put that in the bowl, too.
Measure out the vanilla flavoring and add it to the bowl.
Dump the entire box of instant vanilla Jell-O pudding into the bowl. Then, using a mixer on medium to low speed, mix all of those ingredients together.
You’ll want to gradually add in the milk so that it’s easier to mix the ingredients together, and it’ll start to get that pudding consistency.
Once that is all mixed together, let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Now while that is sitting, it’s time to grab those Halloween Oreos. You need to crush up all the Oreos (except maybe the one or two that you couldn’t help eating).
#SpoonTip: The easiest way to do this is by using a food processor, but you can also put them in a plastic baggie and use a rolling pin to crush them.
To assemble, start with a layer of crushed Oreos, then add a layer of pudding, then a layer of Cool Whip. Don’t worry too much about making the layers even or pretty, it’ll taste amazing no matter what.
Try to end on a layer of Oreos, but once you’ve used up all your pudding, crushed Oreos, and Cool Whip you’re Halloween dirt pudding is ready to eat.
