Why You Need Planet Oat’s Dairy-Free Ice Cream

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hofstra chapter.

There are few things I love more than ice cream. Ice cream is perfect on a hot summer day, after a long work day or even while watching a movie. However, for those who follow a dairy-free diet, finding ice cream that is satisfying can be difficult. If you’re looking for a new treat to try, Planet Oat has introduced dairy-free ice cream and you need to try it.

Planet Oat’s dairy-free ice cream is available in six new flavors:  blueberry oat crumble, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter swirl, coffee fudge swirl, cookies & cream and vanilla. These frozen treats and are made using Planet Oat oatmilk.

I don’t follow a dairy-free diet, but I couldn’t even tell the difference between this and regular ice cream. I am obsessed with the chocolate peanut butter swirl flavor and nearly ate the whole pint in one sitting. The ice cream has a rich, creamy texture and the peanut butter swirls actually tasted like peanut butter and not that artificial one that most peanut butter products tend to have.

Planet Oat is known for their signature oatmilk. Since it’s made from oats, the oatmilk boasts many of the same nutritional benefits of the classic superfood. The oatmilk is free from artificial colors, tree nuts, soy, peanuts, lactose, gluten, dairy, artificial preservatives and artificial flavors.
