C’ChoColat in Montreal is The Place To Go For Chocolate Lovers

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hofstra chapter.

Over the summer I was lucky enough to visit Montreal and take advantage of all that the amazing food the city had to offer. Since I am a member of Spoon and love having a plan, I decided to look through past Spoon articles, searching for the top food and dessert destinations in Montreal. My mouth instantly started to water when I came across C’ChoColat. It is the place for chocolate lovers to visit for dessert in Montreal. I just knew I had to go.

Calling all chocoholics: I promise you will not leave this restaurant unsatisfied.

This place has a famous signature dessert called C’Wow. 70% dark chocolate dome filled with pieces of our delicious Liege waffle, brownie, gelato, crumble, mixed berries, and pecans. Warm caramel sauce will melt the dome and, surely, your heart!” The name is an accurate description of the crazy dessert as we all said “wow” when it was brought out.

The dessert is served as a giant chocolate dome with everything mostly located inside. The server pours hot caramel over the dome, instantly melting the chocolate which spreads across all of the sweets inside. The servers are used to videos being taken during this time, as they asked if we were ready before even starting.

Aside from that crazy dessert, there are other items on the menu that are not as intense but still equally as delicious. They have crepes of all different flavors, waffles, and mason jar milkshakes—just to name a few. There are even full drink menus besides the desserts, such as a variety of hot chocolates, lattes, and espressos.

Everything was presented in such an artistic manner that added to the deliciousness of the desserts. Some of them looked too pretty to dig into. This led to the perfect opportunity to take pictures of our plates before we started eating. Since all the portions are so large, sharing is easy and allows you to try as many plates as possible!

While enjoying the variety of over-the-top desserts, you can take in the atmosphere of the restaurant—from the stylish modern decor to the large plush booths. The tables are all large enough to make sharing the extravagant desserts easy, while also being able to see what crazy desserts the tables around you are enjoying.

If I had not search through past articles for dessert in Montreal, I would have never found this restaurant. My family and I will remember C’ChoColat for being extravagant, yet right up our ally with crazy chocolate confections.

After dining at this restaurant, my family and I entered a food coma. Although everything we had was delicious, it was also super sweet and rich. This place is one to visit if you are a chocolate lover and looking for a spot to enjoy decadent desserts in Montreal. If I ever visit Canada again, I will be sure to make another stop here!
