Homemade Garlic Bread in Only 20 Minutes

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Harvard chapter.

The perfect snack, appetizer, pick-me-up, or solution to your late-night cravings, this garlic bread is sure to get the party started. This tasty treat is actually much easier to make than you might have thought. Considering its impressive appearance and aroma, garlic bread is deceptively easy to make. For an extra cheesy delicacy, top off the seasoned bread slices with shredded mozzarella and parmesan before putting them into the oven. But beware — this garlic bread will have your friends begging for more so be prepared to make a second batch.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350˚

  2. Bennie Weber

Slice the baguette vertically to create about 1-inch pieces.

  3. Bennie Weber

Melt butter and mix in minced garlic. Cover sheet pan with aluminum foil and place slices of bread on top. Brush on butter and garlic mix and top off with parsley flakes.

  4. Bennie Weber

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Then, switch the oven to broil for 3-5 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

  5. Bennie Weber

Remove slices from pan and let sit to cool for 1-3 minutes. I prefer to eat garlic bread while it’s still warm, so I usually opt for max 2 minutes of cooling time. Munch away!
