How to Make a Simple But Divine Apple Cake

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at GWU chapter.

Apples are a fall food staple that can be used in many different ways. Whether it’s crisp or pie, the sweet smell of apples is always enticing and comforting. But this apple cake is something else.

My grandma bakes and passes down her delicious recipes that show her love for her family. One of my favorite fall desserts is this scrumptious apple cake. This cake is light, balanced and remarkably easy to put together. The Granny Smith apples add a tartness in addition to the lemon rind sprinkled on top. Better yet, this recipe will truly impress your guests at Thanksgiving.
