10 Beers To Try At Township

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at FSU chapter.

Not sure if you’ve heard the most excellent news yet, but here in Tallahassee we have a new beer hall, Township. They offer over 70+ types of beer from pretty much all over the world. While tons of beer options might sound like heaven it can also bring a mega conflict to the inexperienced bar-goer (like, yours truly for instance). One major issue my friends and I always seem to come across is knowing what beer to get, it never fails, we spend a solid 20 minutes repeating “do you know what you’re getting?” to one another. It’s horrible. But fear not, I am here and finally prepared to guide you through this all too frequent Friday night faux pas.

Alright, LEGGO.

1. Funky Buddha Floridian

The Funky Buddha Floridian is a go-to for the wheat beer lovers. It’s a distinguished fan favorite from the well-known Florida brewery Funky Buddha and it’s guaranteed to be the most refreshing.

2. Harpoon UFO White

Described as a “sweet orange wheat” beer from the Harpoon Brewery, it is definitely on the sweeter side of the wheat beer spectrum but its citrus taste will not disappoint you.

3. Rekorderlig Strawberry-Lime

This is a cider from Sweden that tastes just like a Jolly Rancher. No joke. If you’re a fan of fruit soda’s then this is definitely the one to try.

4. Breckenridge Vanilla Porter

The vanilla porter is another very popular option. It’s a darker and smoother beer for those with a more sophisticated taste.

5. Shiner Bock

Hailing from Texas, this crisp dark lager with German hops and a roasted taste will have you shouting “prost!”

6. Harpoon IPA

A popular India Pale Ale (IPA), this one offers a light and fresh taste to complement a summery vibe.

7. Funky Buddha Maple Bacon Coffee Porter

The future is here, people, and it’s in maple syrup flavored beer! This beer is basically breakfast in a bottle. If you enjoy maple syrup on your pancakes then you will absolutely positively love this drink. Trust me like Rose trusted Jack on this one. #SheLetGo #StillNotOverIt

8. Uinta Pils

This light pilsner is another great option if you’re into light beers. What sets this one apart is it’s crisp bitterness that is still refreshing.

9. Mc Chouffe Belgian Brown Ale

This brown ale is powerful yet warm with delicious caramel undertones. Yum!

10. Proof Eight Five- O

This American Pale Ale (APA) is brewed right in our city at Proof Brewing Co. Another popular choice, it’s described as a more malty drink, but also “citra hopped” for a more citrusy taste to add to its crisp flavor.

And cheers! You’ve made it to the end of the list now go out and enjoy a beer (or two) with great company and a pretzel!
