I Made my Own Clorox Wipes Since Every Store in Westchester NY Ran Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Fordham chapter.

Here’s how I made my own clorox wipes because every store in Westchester NY ran out! I watched a few YouTube videos to get different perspectives and figure out the best technique so this is what I came up with!

DIY Clorox Wipes

Difficulty:BeginnerPrep time: 10 minutesCook time: 5 minutesTotal time: 15 minutesServings:1 servings

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cat O'Connor

Get 1 cup of hot water and mix in 1/2 tablespoon of clorox bleach. If you choose to use an extract to eliminate some of the bleach smell and make it a bit more pleasant, add about a tablespoon of your scent now as well.

  2. Cat O'Connor

Cut a paper towel roll in half and remove the cardboard from the middle. You may want to use a roll that you’ve been using, as a full roll probably won’t fit into your container. Or, take your reusable towels and put them in your container loosely so they are able to absorb the mixture.

  3. Cat O'Connor

Put your paper towel in your container and pour the water/bleach mixture over it. Close the container and shake to make sure your water/bleach mixture is spread out throughout the whole container.

  4. Cat O'Connor

Make sure you keep your container closed or the wipes will dry out and use within 24 hours of making them. If you do not use them within 24 hours, you can add more of bleach and water.

And that’s it! Thats how you too can make your own clorox wipes at home! Stay safe!
