Healthy Snacks for Your Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Viewing Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Fairfield chapter.

It’s that time of year again. On December, 5 at 10 PM on CBS, the Victoria’s Secret Angels will once again strut their stuff down the runway. I for one am totally excited about the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and look forward to it every year. But watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show does come with some feelings of unease. After all, we are watching the show directly in the middle of the holiday “eating season”.

I don’t know about all of you, but my friends and I love eating something while watching the show. But it’s hard to enjoy eating while you’re staring at all these beautiful girls with perfect bodies. So, I decided to come up with a list of snacks that will you make you feel a little less guilty while watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show. Feel free to steal a few or all of them.

Apples and Peanut Butter

Apples and peanut butter is an extremely easy snack to make as well as surprisingly healthy. Although peanut butter may contain a lot fat it’s the good type of fat. The monounsaturated fat found in peanut butter helps burn fat and build muscle. Try a natural peanut butter if you want to get super healthy.

Veggies and Dip

Vegetables are packed with all of the good stuff like vitamins, fiber, and potassium. Simply cut up your favorite veggies and serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Before you know it, the angels will want to snack with you.

Mixed Nuts

Once again a super easy snack to make. Nuts are filled with protein as well as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which can help lower cholesterol. Throw all of favorite nuts in a chic bowl and you’re good to go!

Fruit Salad

Fruit is so sweet, you might even think you’re eating candy. Okay maybe not really, but it is super tasty and good for you. Fruits are filled with vitamins and nutrients that we need in our bodies. The bright colors of the fruits will make the perfect addition to any party spread.

Avocado Toast

Did you know avocados contain more potassium than a banana? Cool stuff, right? Try mashing one up and putting it atop a piece of whole wheat bread and add salt and pepper. It’s easy and super yummy.

Indulgence: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Okay, I know chocolate chip cookies have zero health benefits, but it wouldn’t be a party without a little sugar. We work hard and deserve a little treat. Even the angels need a little indulgence now and again. Chocolate chip cookies are super easy to make and you know everyone will love them!

Be sure to try these treats when you and your friends watch the VS angels strut their stuff down the runway or any other time you feel like eating a little bit healthier.
