Embrace the Sour Power of These 2-Ingredient DIY Lemonheads

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Drake chapter.

I am one of those crazy people who enjoys sour things. I love Lemonheads and can’t get enough of them. But, as a college student, I’m not willing to pay $1.79 for a small box of these bad boys. Instead, I made my own and I only spent $4.62 for a batch of 24, which are much larger than they are when store-bought. These tasty sweets will keep you from ever eating store-bought Lemonheads again.

Boil this mixture until it reaches the consistency of thick syrup.

#SpoonTip: A good way to check the syrup is to drop a small drop in cold water, it should appear brittle.

Coat a mini-muffin baking sheet with cooking spray. Pour the heated mixture into each mini-muffin mold. For smaller Lemonheads, fill the molds less than half-way full. For larger Lemonheads, fill the molds more than half-way full.

#SpoonTip: Smaller Lemonheads will harden faster.
