Thanks to the former President Barack Obama, embargo laws against the country of Cuba have been loosened. This includes the legality of cuban rum, cigars, and other goods for non-comercial use in the USA (aka, if you bring it back in your suitcase, and use it for personal use, you are good to go). Like many Americans, I was intrigued by Cuban culture and lifestyle. So, I made the quick trip from Florida to Cuba to explore the beautiful country and put my 6+ years of Spanish to good use. Oh, and learned to make a mighty mojito, from locals, along the way…

Pour 1 shot of Honey into a glass
Pour 1 shot of lime juice into a glass. Mix well and follow with a splash of soda water.
Pour gold rum (Havana Club if you’re lucky enough) for 5 seconds into a glass. Cuban tip: if you’re opening a brand new bottle, be sure to pour out a swig for u0022good karmau0022.
Add 1 mint sprig and crush the stem. Cuban tip: It is very important you crush ONLY the stem and not the leaves, as this is where the flavor is.
Add Ice to the rim
Finish off with more soda water
