6 Best Bing’s Bakery Desserts

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Delaware chapter.

Established in 1946, Bing’s Bakery is Delaware’s longest running bakery, consisting of a myriad of different baked goods including cookies, cakes, pastries, breads and much more. It gets even better during the holidays and for special occasions when they offer specialty items, such as, their pumpkin rolls during the fall season. Bing’s Bakery even does custom orders for wedding cakes and homemade pies.

With the huge variety at Bing’s, it’s hard to pick your favorites. That’s why I’ve compiled these 6 recommendations for the best desserts at Bing’s Bakery.

1. Glacès

Glacès are Bing’s Bakery’s most favored dessert, with their delicate glazed chocolate coating and rich, creamy chocolate center it’s a full-flavored treat leaving me full until I eye the next dessert case.

2. Back & White Cookies

An all time favorite is the classic black & white cookie. While the name doesn’t actually match what it is, since it’s technically a “drop cake”, we still love them all the same.

3. Cannolis

Italian cannoli’s, from the Sicily region, are fried pastries with a ricotta and chocolate chip filling topped with powdered sugar. In addition to the popular black & white cookie, cannoli’s are right next to them as Bing’s best selling classic treats!

4. Hamantashen

Hamantashen is a triangular filled-pocket pastry typically filled with flavors of raspberry and apricot. Hamantashen translates to “poppy-seed-filled pockets”, but I’m glad that over the years they transitioned to being filled with apricot instead.

5. Pecan Praline

The pecan praline looks too perfect to eat because off all the different tastes going on in this treat. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop.

6. Fruit Tarts

Stop in for some of these bad boys if you can truly appreciate a fruity dessert. A fruit tart is a perfect combination of sweet fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi with a think, rich filling of pastry cream.

If you haven’t had the chance to explore these tasty desserts, I highly recommend going to Bing’s as soon as possible and treat yourself. You don’t want to miss out any longer.
