This Decadent Brunch Is Perfect for When You’re Flying Solo

Let’s be real, everyone wants to start their day off in the most decadent way possible. And brunch is usually the way to do it. But brunchin’ gets expensive, and not everyone has the time to wait in line for a hipster combination of classic breakfast foods. School, work, life, everything seems to get in the way of your second meal of the day.

You can still live the life of luxury, complete with a cast iron skillet and the taste of truffle. And you can live it from the comfort of your own home, in minutes. A fluffy Dutch baby pancake and truffle avocado toast topped with a fried egg are just a few whisks away!

Dutch Baby with Blueberries

  1. Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet inside oven, and preheat to 475°F until the skillet become hot. Don’t forget to use an oven mitt!

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, then add milk, then flour.

  3. Remove skillet from oven and lower temperature to 425°F. Melt butter in skillet until the whole pan is coated.

  4. Pour batter into skillet and return to the oven. Cook for 12 min.

  5. Remove skillet and top with powdered sugar, lemon, and blueberries. Enjoy hot!

Truffle Avocado Toast Topped with an Egg

  1. Toast bread to desired crispiness. Crusty, fluffy bread usually works best.

  2. Mash avocado!

    #SpoonTip: Mash inside the avocado shell to minimize mess.

  3. Spread avocado on toast and sprinkle with salt.

  4. Heat up oil in skillet. Once hot, crack egg in the middle of the pan and cover until cooked.

  5. Top avocado toast with the fried egg and sprinkle generously with truffle salt.
