These Peeps S’mores Will Keep You Company This Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Chapel Hill chapter.

The makers of Peeps, the classic marshmallow herald of spring, are already shipping their sugary chicks and bunnies to a store near you. And while these delightful treats are a classic on their own, why wait for them to show up in your Easter basket? Here’s the ultimate way to combine Peeps and cold weather: Peeps S’mores (or S’meeps, as one clever chef calls them).

Now you may be thinking, “That’s absurd. Why mess with a classic like the s’more?” Don’t get me wrong, I have so much love for classic marshmallows. The Peep, however, is simply an amped-up version. Think of it like the men of the Twilight series: Jacob would be a great boyfriend. But Edward? Edward sparkles. Just like the Peep you’re about to smush into a chocolaty graham cracker sandwich.

*Watch the Peeps closely. Over-baking will result in your precious chicks exploding (something neither you nor your oven wants to see).

4. Remove from the oven and press the remaining graham crackers on top.

5. Chow down.
