If you are wondering what some of your favorite 90s and early 2000s stars are doing nowadays, chances are they might be on the Food Network. These stars that we once knew as sassy teenagers have outgrown their former roles and have found a way back into our hearts (through our stomachs, of course).
Our generation’s two favorite things (food and celebrities) have come together at last. Well played, Food Network.
1. Jonathan Bennett: Cake Wars
We all know the heartthrob from Mean Girls, but did you know that he is now the host of Food Network’s Cake Wars? In Mean Girls, his only worry was passing calculus, but now he has to deal with a bunch of emotional bakers, like this girl.
But, he has to stay strong among these emotions because it is his job to tell the bakers that they have lost the cake war.
2. Tia Mowry: Tia Mowry at Home
You may know her from Sister, Sister and Twitches, but now she hosts her own show on the Cooking Channel called Tia Mowry at Home. On her show, Tia continues to keep us entertained with her sassy sense of humor that we know and love.
She makes simple recipes that are suitable for a busy woman like herself, but with gourmet twists that can impress her A-list guests. She even shares her family’s comfort foods, like her husband’s top secret mac and cheese and her dad’s Hawaiian-style beef short ribs.
3. Joey Fatone: Rewrapped
After N*SYNC n*sunk, Joey decided to pursue other interests. He competed on the first season of Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, where he came in third. Joey was disappointed of course, but he left knowing he had won one thing: Guy’s hairstyle stamp of approval.
Food Network was so impressed with Joey’s performance on Rachael vs. Guy that they decided to let him host his own show. He now hosts Rewrapped, where contestants take a popular snack, recreate it, then make their own original dish using that ingredient.
4. Alfonso Ribeiro: Unwrapped 2.0
The former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star is bringing his signature dance moves and personality to the Food Network.
He hosts Unwrapped 2.0 where he describes how our favorite snacks are made. If you want to see Carlton in action, watch full episodes here.
5. Aaron Carter: Rachael vs. Guy’s Celebrity Cook-Off
Aaron appeared on season 1 of Rachael vs. Guy’s Celebrity Cook-Off in order to prove that he had more to offer to the ladies than just his singing voice (or so he thought).
Unfortunately, we did not get to share many meals with Aaron because he was eliminated after the first show. After his failed attempt at making his own ranch dressing for his macaroni salad, Rachael and Guy no longer wanted his candy.
My younger fangirl self was crushed, but it was probably the best decision for the benefit of Rachael and Guy.
