A College Student’s Top 3 Fall Trader Joe’s Items to try

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Bucknell chapter.

Trader Joe’s has always been my favorite place to try new things- especially during the fall season! Here are a college student’s top three favorite fall items to try from Trader Joe’s.

Apple Cider Donuts

The Trader Joe’s Apple Cider donuts were made with apple cider and coated in cinnamon sugar. They had a “cakey” consistency, but were not dry which made for a great fall treat. I would have liked a little bit more of the apple flavor but the amount of cinnamon was perfect. This is a perfect treat for college students because it’s a simple and easy snack. You can have it with a cup of coffee while studying or a treat late at night!

Pumpkin Raviolis

The Honey Roasted pumpkin ravioli was very festive with orange and yellow stripes on the pasta. The pumpkin taste was not overwhelming and the spices in the ravioli blend added in a great mixture of flavors. I absolutely loved this as it was a fun fall item, but also a filling dish. The only thing that I did not like about this dish is my confusion on how to serve this. I recommend serving this with brown sugar, sage, and butter to compliment all of the flavors. Although it might be difficult to make this in a dorm room, using a hot plate to boil some water is an easy task that could lead to an amazing meal. It’s definitely worth the hassle.

Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

This is my favorite fall item by far! This is a quick and easy meal to prepare as it is a frozen item, which is perfect for college students. The pasta is cooked perfectly after sticking it in the microwave. There is gouda, cheddar, and parmesan in this pasta which makes for a very cheesy dish. It also includes nutmeg and lots of butternut squash! This for me is an absolute must-have and was great for a chilly fall day!
