There’s no debate: apple pie is a classic. Whether it’s at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or a birthday dinner, apple pie is always a fan favorite. But if you’re bad at crust (it’s okay, we all are) or if you just want to switch it up, then try out these apple pie dumplings. Same favorite taste, just wrapped in puff pastry.

Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400ËF/200ËC.
Peel apples completely and remove stems.
Cut apples in half across the middle.
Using a knife or a spoon, hollow out the apple halves. Keep the scooped out bits in a separate bowl.
Take the separate apple carvings and combine them with the white sugar, cinnamon, softened butter and cornstarch.
Mix well until fully coated and set aside.
Roll out puff pastry with a rolling pin, using flour to reduce sticking. Using a sauce pan cover, roughly half a foot in diameter, press down into the dough and peel around the edges to create a circle. Make two circles per sheet of puff pastry dough.
Spoon the coated apple fillings into one of the hollowed-out apple halves and place on the circle of dough.
Use the beaten egg to coat the edges of the dough. Pull the edges up and press together. Add more egg wash to the outside of the dough. Using a knife, poke holes into the top of the dough for ventilation.
Repeat for all 8 apple halves. Place onto a lightly sprayed baking sheet.
Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until dough is golden brown and cooked through. Let cool, cut and enjoy.
