This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at BU chapter.

But if you’re bad at crust (it’s okay, we all are) or if you just want to switch it up, then try out these apple pie dumplings. Same favorite taste, just wrapped in puff pastry.

Roll out puff pastry with a rolling pin, using flour to reduce sticking. Using a sauce pan cover, roughly half a foot in diameter, press down into the dough and peel around the edges to create a circle. Make two circles per sheet of puff pastry dough.

Spoon the coated apple fillings into one of the hollowed-out apple halves and place on the circle of dough.

Use the beaten egg to coat the edges of the dough. Pull the edges up and press together. Add more egg wash to the outside of the dough. Using a knife, poke holes into the top of the dough for ventilation.
