I like to think there are two types of pasta lovers in this world: the ones who like to eat their pasta as is, and the ones who like to eat theirs with heaps of Parmesan cheese. Personally, I fall into the latter category. But even more, pasta isn’t the only food I’ll sprinkle Parmesan on.
Truly, the cheese tastes good on anything—pizza, fries, scrambled eggs. I just love how the salty, nutty flavor of it complements many of my favorite foods, and more or less, I wouldn’t mind trying to incorporate the cheese into every meal I eat.
So why shouldn’t I try? Here is how I would eat Parmesan cheese for every meal of the day.
Breakfast: Parmesan Croissants
Step aside, chocolate croissants. Parmesan croissants are bound to become your new fave flaky breakfast, with Parmesan cheese baked into the puff pastry. For what it’s worth, I know I’ll be grabbing seconds.
Lunch: Parmesan Garlic Wings
Don’t tell me you’ve never had Parmesan garlic wings. Tossed in garlic and Parmesan cheese, these wings make the perfect lunch or appetizer if spicy food isn’t your thing.
Snack: Parmesan Baked Edamame
As much as I can’t resist the Parmesan flavors of Goldfish crackers and Stacy’s Pitas Chips (if you haven’t tried either, please do!), I’d still chow down on some healthier Parmesan snacks. Parmesan Baked Edamame just happens to be one of these healthy substitutes, and better yet, are just as addicting.
Dinner: Broccoli Parmesan Pasta
What other kind of dish would you eat with Parmesan cheese for dinner? This broccoli Parmesan pasta highlights grated Parmesan alongside tender broccoli for a filling, delicious dish. Granted, I’d probably go heavier on the Parmesan than the recipe calls for. (Sorry, not sorry.)
Dessert: Parmesan Chiffon Cake
No, not cheesecake. Parmesan chiffon cake is light and airy like sponge cake, with a subtle Parmesan flavor to fulfill your cheesy craving. Combined with the buttercream frosting, this cake perfectly blends sweet and savory for a one-of-a-kind dessert.
At this point in my life, I would totally add Parmesan cheese to any food that seems fit. Whether it be soft pretzels or oatmeal—it’s a thing!—Parmesan cheese can truly do no wrong. My motto? Food (parme)sans cheese just isn’t the same. So keep calm and Parmesan on.
