My friends say that I have a severe addiction to Starbucks, and iced coffee specifically. Not a day goes by that I do not crave the smooth, sweet taste of my iced coffee. I blame my Dad because ever since I was little there were always at least five empty Starbucks cups in his car at a time. He, like many other people, have a winter drink and a summer drink: hot or iced depending on the weather.
Personally, I think this is just dumb. Iced coffee is too good to only be enjoyed for part of the year. Winter, spring, summer, fall, no matter the weather, iced coffee should be a staple in every coffee drinker’s diet, just like it is in mine. I drink iced coffee 365 days a year no matter the weather, and you should too.
For one, iced coffee is simply much tastier than regular coffee, and there is no denying that. There is something about the fact that it stays relatively the same temperature for the entire time you are drinking it, unlike hot coffee. This makes the flavor of the drink last longer and is enjoyable for the duration of drinking it. And the cold, sweet sip of iced coffee is more refreshing in general.
According to the coffee experts of the world, iced coffee is scientifically proven to be healthier for you due to the lower acidity in cold brew (a popular type of iced coffee) than in regular hot coffee. This means that it is better for your stomach and your teeth. Also, with very little calories and carbs, it can easily satisfy your sweet tooth while keeping your summer body in check. So, obviously, iced coffee is the best option for your body.
I truly believe that cold drinks are simply better than hot drinks. You drink your beer cold, your water cold, and most drinks cold. Why should your coffee be any different? Even in the middle of a snow storm, a perfectly cold iced coffee is just what one needs to get their caffeine fix.
Nothing can compare to the taste of iced coffee on a warm, summer day, but with every sip, I am taken to that place and reminded of the happiness it brings me. That is exactly why I drink iced coffee 365 days a year.
