Turn Your Coffee Into a Morning Smoothie With This Easy Recipe

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at BC chapter.

Two-in-ones have the potential to be legendary. The Spork… simple, yet incredible. The bottle opener belt buckle… life-saving. iPhone Cases with a secret card compartment… the only reason they haven’t kicked me out of school for constantly losing my ID.

On the other hand, some of these innovations are doomed to fail. Has any girl ever said that two-in-one shampoo and conditioner makes their hair feel like Selena Gomez in those new Pantene commercials? No. The answer is no. But don’t let your rubbery hair deter you from trying out new two-in-one combinations.

Ever thought to combine your coffee with your morning smoothie? This two-in-one might just be your early morning game-changer. Not to mention, it is healthy for you. You get your coffee kick, but you also get a smoothie that is 100% vegan and made with a superfood (cacao powder). Can it get any better?

The best part about smoothies is that you can mold them to your own preferences; you can just use this recipe as a guide for your own perfect smoothie. You don’t have to measure out the ingredients if you don’t want to. Throw a dash here and a handful there, and you got yourself a smoothie customized to your own liking.

Drink up. I also like to make it into a smoothie bowl. Consider topping it with granola, oats, coconut, chia seeds, flax seeds, almond butter, local bee pollen, almonds, cashews and more.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY. I have the greatest family who introduced me to the joys of food: cooking, baking and exploring what the world has to offer. I started ski racing at a young age, and later attended a ski academy in Vermont to focus on my athletics. I came to Boston College to both ski race D1, have an amazing education, and to be surrounded by the most amazing city.
