Galentine’s Day, February 13th, is one of my all-time favorite holidays. It’s the best excuse of a day to treat yourself to great drinks and food with your girlfriends. Whether you’re single and want to shamelessly eat your feelings or just looking for a fun night with girls before your actual Valentine’s date, these Boston restaurants are the best places to celebrate.
1. Eataly Boston
The best place to celebrate this Galentine’s Day is Eataly! The day before Valentine’s Day, they are having a “15 Shades of Red: A Wine and Chocolate Affair” where 15 shades of red wine will be paired with Italian chocolates. So head down to Eataly Tuesday night from 6-9pm with your girls. Wine, chocolate, and girlfriends— how much better can your Galentine’s celebration get?
2. LA Burdick
This is the perfect place to spend your Galentine’s day. Grab your closest girlfriends and head over to LA Burdick for some delicious chocolates or one of their unique hot chocolate flavors. Besides, what better way to heal a single heart than with some chocolate? You’ll love the cozy, beautiful atmosphere of this place, but be sure to get there early because their seats fill up fast! They are said to have the best hot chocolate in all of Boston, so you may as well try it. Located right next to Newbury Street, you can finish your night with some shopping.
3. Tiki Rock Bar
Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to try this great new bar in Boston. Its trendy decor and wide selection of drinks make it a great spot for a girls night out. You really can’t go wrong with their delicious cocktails, sushi, and hip atmosphere. And their lights and Hawaiian theme will transport you to a tropical island and make you forget you’re single! For a great Tiki classic, order their crab rangoons or one of their unique sushi rolls.
4. Sonsie
For those of you in need of some comfort food this Valentine’s Day, head over to Sonsie for the best comfort food brunch! This delicious food and your closest friends are bound to make you feel better if you’re down about your single status this year. Located on Newbury Street, Sonsie is in the heart of Boston. Whether you go for brunch or dinner, their food is going to make you forget why you didn’t want to be single in the first place!
5. Saltie Girl
Just because you’re single on Valentine’s Day doesn’t make you a Saltie Girl! But, that doesn’t mean you should pass on this restaurant. You’ll love the cozy atmosphere and unique, delicious seafood this great place has to offer! They’re cocktails are perfect for drinking away your feelings this Valentine’s Day. As a southerner, I recommend the fried lobster and waffles, a twist on one of my favorite dishes!
6. GrandTen Distilling
Said to be the best wine bar in Boston, this is one of the best spots to celebrate Galentine’s Day! What better way to celebrate being a girl than with some great wine? They offer some amazing cocktails that you and your friends will love. Although it’s a little out of the way, located in South Boston on Dorchester Ave., you and your friends will not regret trying this place out.
In a city like Boston, there are so many choices to celebrate Galentine’s Day, so grab your closest friends and head into the city to indulge in some of the best food from Boston’s greatest restaurants. The great food, drinks, and atmosphere at these restaurants will cheer your single self up this Valentine’s Day!
Fun fact: Leslie Knope, a Boston College alum, started Galentine’s Day. So if you’re a BC student, you should especially embrace this day.
