7 Best Coffee Shops for Studying in Houston

Studying is the #WOAT. Yes, the worst of all time. If you’re anything like me, though, the pains of studying can be made a little bit better with relaxing tunes, aesthetic decor, and an iced vanilla latte. Luckily, I live in Houston, a place filled with trendy, “vibe-y” coffee shops, perfect for reading, schoolwork, and studying. Here are my picks for the best Houston coffee shops that can help cure the studying blues.

1. Tout Suite

Tout Suite is my all-time favorite coffee shop in the city. In fact, it was their (insta-worthy!) vanilla lattes, acai bowls, and strawberries and creme croissants that got me through the college application process. And, if you’ve gone through that process, you know that this coffee shop must work wonders. This converted warehouse is full of hustle-and-bustle, though, so make sure you can study around an abundance of white noise!

2. Common Bond Cafe and Bakery

Common Bond is so chic, it will make you feel like you’re studying in a Parisian cafe. The white marble and floor-to-ceiling windows make Common Bond the place to brighten up a day of studying. And, don’t forget to order one of their intricate, beautiful, museum-worthy (yes, seriously) pastries.

3. Cafe Brasil

If you’re looking for a chill, rustic venue for hittin’ the books, Brasil is the place to go. Not only do they have great coffee (try their Iced Canela Cold Brew), but they also have an array of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that will bring you back there even when you’re not studying. Whether you decide to sit inside or venture onto the greenery-filled patio, you will not be disappointed.

4. Cavo Coffe

Cavo Coffee has trendy, chic vibes while facilitating the perfect, quiet study space. They have an insta-worthy avocado toast and some pretty great coffee options. If you’re studying for a science exam, you can look the part of a scientist and order a halogen siphon.

5. Bebidas

Bebidas is seriously the cutest, so obviously, I’m obsessed. The small, bright, and adorable study-spot is offset by a generously-sized garden/patio area, which makes you feel like you’re in the middle of a whimsical park. The smoothies and coffee options are delicious and healthy. Healthy food and a productive study-day? Win-win.

6. Agora

If you need to feel laid-back and relaxed to start studying, you have got to try out Agora. Here, you will find couches for lounging, as well as lots of seats on both the upper and lower floors. Grab a coffee and a pastry and take some time to chill. Agora will turn the pre-exam studying stress into calmness.

7. Siphon Coffee

Siphon Coffee has a great atmosphere for studying and just chillin’ out. Their tasty coffee (including, of course, scientist-grade siphons), food and pastries, as well as good music make this place a go-to spot for studying. It’s classical and cool, perfect for a study day.

Studying. It sucks. But it has to be done. Next time you need to escape your dorm room or get away from your kitchen table, make sure to venture out to one of Houston’s best coffee shops. I promise, it will make the horrors of studying way more bearable.
